First time to Scotland with the children. I love park dean in general because compared to rival parks haven and park resorts , I don't need to complain about anything. We have been to Cornwall, Devon and Wales parks, these are all good and impressive. This is a small park compared to others but the location is the winner here. The north highlands is breathtaking. The a roads are clear to drive on , no traffic!
Had a fabulous week. Weather was best I've experienced in Scotland for years which always helps! Caravan had everything we needed and facilities on site are good albeit it not the cheapest. Only negative was the chip shop on site which was dreadful but we didn't let that put us off. I have stayed at Parkdean's most northerly site, Grannies Heilan Hame, many times since in static caravans and as a camper and the site remains largely as it was 25 years ago aside of refurbishments to the club house. Located 45 miles north of Inverness and 3 miles from Dornoch the site boasts spectacular coastal views north towards Helmsdale and the majority of static caravans have full or partial sea views.

The Grannie or Granny stone is either the only surviving part of a stone circle or a simple glacial erratic. The Grannie Stane is clearly visible when the water is low. The Grannie Stone or Granny Stane is described as "One of Irvine's prehistoric puzzles", this boulder is either a glacial erratic left behind from the Ice Age or is the last remaining stone of a stone circle - others were removed, by blasting in and , after the Irvine weir was constructed in , but popular protests saved this remaining stone. The stones had been on the upstream side of the old Irvine Bridge.
